But with varying services, packages, and payment plans, it can be hard to compare companies and pick which one is best for your small business. Services and reputation are arguably the most important factors in choosing a 3PL partner. Try these questions to get to the heart of what a potential 3PL partner can offer.

1. What is your mission? Why do you do what you do?

It may seem like a basic question, but it is one that separates out providers from true partners. A provider’s answer will likely focus on the goals of their own company. A partner will focus more on their customers and what they help them achieve.
